Women, there are other options for you and your baby. Across the country and the world there are crisis pregnancy centers such as All Babies Cherished. A google search brings up many acredited help centers. Please listen to your heart. If only we all could look at other human beings no matter their race, health, sex, ability, etc. and say, "You are a human being. I acknowledge that you are alive and that you have the same right to live as I have. Though I may not understand you, I respect you as a fellow human on this planet trying to overcome adversity just as I am, trying to find happiness just as I am, crying and laughing just as I am, and above all else and most importantly you are alive just as I am alive." My mother's life was not destroyed when, at 19 years old, she chose to give birth to me instead of having an abortion as many suggested. They suggested this so that she could start a life free of a physically and verbally abusive relationship, avoid being a single parent, go to college, have a career and get remarried and have children with a man she loved. Though life was not easy for her (whose life is?) she choose to let me continue living. Now I am 20, older than she was when she had me. She is remarried and has just graduated from college (she went back to school to be a teacher). Maybe you will say that this is the extreme case and all women will not eventually be able to fulfill their dreams like she did, but I am here and alive to say that it is possible. This little baby is a gift to you and you are a gift to him or her. Your lives flow together...all you have to decide is whether or not you will cut short that life inside you. To all you girls and women out there who are pregnant, life is not over when you give life to your baby; it's just beginning in a new and different way. Peace.
